2021 Product Highlight: Metal Panel Systems
Our Metal Panel System launched nationwide early last year, and since then it has taken to many interior designers who are transforming their homes. With the ease of installation and a simple modern look, it is no surprise that this product was a hit in 2021.
Linear Metal Panels are pre-built to fit and only require a few screw holes drilled for installation. A special easy-install feature of the system is that no glue is needed, no sanding, no code issues, no drilling of baluster holes, no marking and or cutting to fit. Plus, every rake and level panel is predrilled on the top rung and comes with screws for easy attachment to the handrail. Beth Diana Smith
Beth Diana Smith was a Featured Designer for the Fall One Room Challenge and found L.J. Smith Stair Systems to have the perfect solution for her hallway. She needed a simple solution to modernize her old stairway railing, and the Panel System fit all of her requirements.
“What sticks out the most for me is how impactful upgrading the railing system is in the space. The newel post elevated the aesthetic of the hallway, the panel is super sleek and looks and feels high end, and the handrail shape (simple and modern) gave me a whole new view on how to approach them with client projects.”
Novo Building Products
Our very own parent company Novo Building Products remodeled their HQ office in early 2021 and had the privilege to be one of the very first to install our Panel System last year. Replacing a very outdated wooden staircase, the clean look of the Metal Panels completely transformed the lobby space and created a brand new, modern feel.
Rick Heinowski commented that originally, the staircase was not a part of the renovation plans. But “when looking at ways to refresh the space, the scope changed from just the upstairs office to include the lobby and the Brady Bunch Stairway. Keeping the stringers and treads of the original staircase, everything else was replaced using the L.J. Smith Panel System. Utilizing these stair parts, the team was able to create a modern space that gave a more professional and appealing first impression to the office.”
Gray Space Interiors
Rasheeda Gray reached out to L.J. Smith Stair Systems during the Spring of 2021 after stumbling across images of our new Panel System on our Instagram account. Loving the modern feel of the design, she decided she would replace her old, 70s stair railing for a more modern Metal Panel.
The sleek Metal Panels tied in perfectly to Rasheeda’s home style. “I have finally done something that I’ve wanted to do since we bought our home over six years ago… We changed our stair railing! Our railing was the one thing in my home that I didn’t love. It’s definitely from the 60’s and dated our entryway. The Metal Stair Panels are modern and yet timeless. Looks like it should have always been there!”
